Guys please send the flowers...I know we dont have very good publicity like others...we need to find the way to get the media atten. One reporter might be intrested in our news not evry one, to get evey body atten we need to do it in samrt and in different way..guys bunch of people are thinking the flower day is good, other think it is not, we have this problem from ages.
If one send flowers or e-mail it is not news..if every body joins it is gonna be a greate news.
join the flower drive.

I have mentioned IV to a some Indians. They have no interest. Some of them are not bothered about retrogression. They exepect the GC to fall in their lap while they are sipping tea and eating samosa.
Also, it is hard to trust a mainly Indian set up. The Indian contracting companies have set a very shameless level. I told my friends that IV appears different but it is hard to change your opinion when you see something else 10 times a day.
I apolozie to the sensitive Indians if I this is breaking news. But this is the general feeling and a reason for hate in the blogs: where there is smoke there is fire. It is embarassing.

We are collecting pledges to file a lawsuit against USICS against these random and opaque processing of GC's. Our target is to get 1000 affected people to pledge atlaset $100 each so that we can fund this lawsuit. No money being collected right now..just honest pledges.

You can do it through the IV site. Click the Green "Donate button at the top of this page or from home page. It will display the following options from which you can choose and it will take you to paypal.

Those who are seeing the 'Welcome Notice malied' status have ADIT mentioned in the Case Status online. There is NOTHING to be done at your end except waiting for the cards once your case is approved. USCIS will NOT approve a case unless the FP is complete - refer to the 485 adjudicator field manual.
Just like their legacy IT systems, USCIS standard email messages are also in the same league and have not been updated. Wait for the cards and contact USCIS only if you dont receive them in a reasonable amount of time - read two weeks from case approval date.

To be more accurate, it is not porting I-140, it is retaining your old priority date, and using it with your new I-140 petition.
When you move, your new company will have to start the GC process from the begining - Labor, I-140. It is just that when they file your new I-140, you will have to provide a copy of your old one and request to keep the old priority date.
I think there are some requirements to get this right - one of them being your job classification should be the same. There is a thread on this subject somewhere on this forum, you can dig it out and ask questions there.

One quick question - I do not have original 485 receipts with me but have scanned copies of them which my lawyer has emailed me. If I print them out and take them to the infopass, is that sufficient or do they ask for the original receipts?
