Yesterday, I went for my H1b stamping but was issued a 221G. I had all documents that the VO asked for.
What are my chances of getting tbe visa without the original contract?
I had to travel to India because of a family emergency. My family is in US as kids are in school. I would really appreciate if you can answer.
Have you ever participated any of the IV's campaign on various issues. Have you ever volunteered your time or donated money.
If no, you deserve this and rot in hell. There is no solution and you people are running to IV only when disastor strikes. But its too late.

Why before October?
Because this year's greencards are expired. New quota starts in October. So he should apply labor by then so that he gets his greencard on Oct 1, 2009 by overnight FedEx at 9.00 AM.

If you are sick of the GC retrogression and Canada is not your cup of tea, UK is another option for you. You can calculate your points online to see if you are qualified for the UK Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP). It is always good to more than one option.

I've been trying to find out the same info for a while now. Has anyone been successful trying to make use of cross chargeability? I had read sometime back that when you file for ur 485 you could provide a covering letter to say "Please consider Cross Chargeability", but isnt there a better way of doing it?

if so, any one who wants think of getting rid of h1s they should also think of loosing this border security measure.
This h1b money is totally insufficient but most likely it will add to governent deficit...but who cares. Eventually this 2000K will increase in some "piece-meal enforcement only" bill
in future.

I find that Silverlight and related .NET stuff works extremely well cross-platform. Apps like Banshee (http://banshee-project.org/) are cross-platform (really, not like Flash and AIR which suck on Linux and Mac) and work wonderfully on every platform (alright, bad example: there’s not a Windows port at the moment, because of the underlying audio libraries, but it’s all C# stuff).
Mono is implementing a really nice open-source version of Silverlight (I forget its name), and Silverlight works great on Mac.

Gurus , I dont know if this question have been addressed before. I am currently on H1B and is valid still july 2009. But i dont have stamping on my passport. I am waiting for AP for my wife and myself. If we user AP to India Trip then
1.Is my H1B still valid?
2. What will be the status? My employer didnt apply for EAD at this movement.

I think as far it does not say unknown, we should be good....but still we should atleast discuss this wit our respective attorneys and post our findings in here.
BTW, mine is blank also.
To answer your question the Priority date column is NULL ( i mean blank) for most of us in 485 Receipt Notice.
But the "Section : " is showing UNKNOWN for some of us and showing something else for others...
I'm wondering if that could be an issue - shall we call USCIS to fix this ?

guys, why even bother waste your time on this. Please help IV gear up a movement to end retrogression. Please donate, make other IV aware...and send in ur stories......How do u think number crunching will help us....apart from making us feel worse.

I disagree, Number crunching if it can give the members an idea of how long it will take to get the GC will motivate them beyond any thing else. If ppl can see the unreasonable amount of time we have to wait before any thing can happen will make force them to take some action. So if any one can make sense of the numbers and if it is reliable please post it for the benifit of others.

just spoke with someone yesterday whose PD was april 2005. he files 485 in september 2005 before eb2 retrogressed.
he got his GC in august 2007. now how is that possible when i still see people wth PD of 2004, whose GC is pending. also btw, in august 2007 and in july 2007 the eb2 was U.
anyone can explain that please?

The problem is not the hours I worked as I've always worked legally and within the laws of the University and visa status.
The problem is proving that I filed my taxes, which I did but I can't produce evidence and neither can the IRS.
I understand your problem. All I was saying is to make sure any response you provide includes that your work during 1999-2000 was legal as per F1 on-campus regulations. And I hope the attorney you hire should be able to do that. If you do not have Tax returns , then you don't. Like someone said earlier , your W2 along with IRS letter that they do not keep records older than 7 years maybe enough but again your attorney should make this decision wisely.

This is NOT what I said in my post. I mentioned "Dependent Relationship". Dependent Visa applies in most cases, though. Example - Your wife could be on F1 or other visa and that is not dependent visa.

AS it is people are so stressed out attending medical appts 200 miles away from home. and being poked with vaccinations in all possible places..damn the body pain after DPT is miserable
also the details of the applications and the volatility of the way things may change ; ignoring the fact that everything is in the hands of your employer/lawyer.....
not to forget that the financial misery if you are filing for self + 2 dependents + lawyer fees is exceeding 5k...
why do you want open such nonsensical threads and raise the adrenalin...???
i wouldnt be surprised to be diagnosed with adrenalin tumor if this situation persists long...
